Registered Dietitian in the Bay Area

About Me

Hi there! My name is Emily and I’m an anti-diet, Registered Dietitian in the Bay Area. I found intuitive eating and food freedom practices through my own journey with disordered eating. I’m passionate about helping others move through the diet culture noise and find a stress-free way of approaching food and eating.

My education began at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. There, I worked in the Goldring Center for Culinary Medicine and my love of cooking began! I also was lucky enough to work in the Edible Schoolyard program where I taught cooking skills to kids kindergarten through 8th grade. I finished at Tulane with my Bachelor’s in Public Health.

The year after I graduated, I moved to Boston where I completed My Master’s of Science in Nutrition Interventions and Behavior Change at Tufts University. My experience was rooted in research where I worked with various populations and honed my motivational interviewing skills. I completed my dietetic classes at Simmons University and did my dietetic internship through the University of Houston where I put together my own rotations (see below).

My love of movement began while I was living in New Orleans and worked as a studio concierge at a boutique pilates studio. I’ve also had the pleasure of teaching small group fitness classes while living in Boston.

I am currently working with individuals diagnosed with eating disorders in the Bay Area. I lead individual sessions as well as group therapy where we explore aspects of intuitive eating.

I’ve been a chronic dieter as long as I can remember. I’ve struggled with disordered eating and over-exercising tendencies. I’ve lived through the stress around eating, endless food rules, and compulsive activity tracking. Once I found food freedom and intuitive eating, it was the first time my body was able to relax and so much of my mental space was freed up when the negative food thoughts slowly stopped appearing.

Let me help you find food freedom today!
